Aerospace Engineer Job Description

Introduction:

Aerospace engineers are responsible for designing, testing, repairing, and improving commercial and military aircraft and spacecraft. Engineers who specialize in aircraft are known as aeronautical engineers and those who specialize in spacecraft are called astronautical engineers. They work with a team of aerospace engineers and they must develop, design, test, and modify air and spacecraft and repair existing aircraft. They will assist in drafting proposals for innovative new air and spacecraft designs, helping test material and prototypes investigating product failures and damage, and creating innovative new products, parts, and materials. They should be creative, communicative, and technical. To remain successful in this field they should have an aptitude for mechanics, science, maths, and computers. They use technological knowledge to improve flight safety and fuel efficiency, reduce the cost and address the environmental impact of air travel.
