The majority of busboys labor in cafes, eateries, or catering businesses to reduce the workload of the waiting staff. Other responsibilities include welcoming guests, picking up dishes after they leave, dusting furniture, lights, and kitchen appliances, as well as wiping up spills, and sweeping the floors. The term “bussers” may also be used to refer to these entry-level employees.

- Although not required, the prior food experience is desirable.
