Introduction:

Education assistants aid teachers in planning and presenting lessons and helping students learn various subjects. Teacher assistants may work part-time or full-time. Teacher assistant duties vary in different schools. At a higher level, they may be qualified to occasionally replace the teacher in their absence apart from handling basic administrative tasks. The teacher assistant working at the preschool will be supervising children during play or lunch. Those who are working at high school needs to focus on creating lesson plans, preparing material for the classroom, and assisting with remedial teaching. Some education assistant works with students with disabilities and they may need to provide basic care to students to help with personal hygiene. They also need to assist students with personal care needs.

Education Assistant Job Summary:

We are looking to hire a successful candidate who has a degree in a relevant field and an interest in teaching. The teaching assistant will be assisting the teacher with students’ academic goals through the preparation and managing of classroom activities and administrative duties. The aide will work under the direct supervision of a teaching fellow. The teaching assistant will conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher working with individual students and small groups, assist with classroom management creating an environment that is appropriate for learnings, assist the teacher with planning, preparation, and implementation of differentiated instruction for individual students. The candidate must be considered highly qualified based on NCLB requirements. They should meet a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate through a formal state or local assessment through the knowledge of and the ability to instruct reading, writing, and maths.
