Library aides are paraprofessionals and they perform clerical tasks in libraries. They usually supervise librarians and help them select books and materials, check-in and out materials at the circulation desk, receive payment for fines, shelve books, and help to process new material. Library assistant needs to perform a certain task that includes charge and renew materials, assist the patron in locating material, answer phones and take messages, greet and direct customers, and maintain the record. They need to keep libraries organized and efficient while assisting their patrons and sometimes they need to last material.
