A physical therapy assistant employs physical therapists and helps patients to walk properly after an injury or illness temporarily. Their duties vary and they spend most of the time helping patients to move their body slow by showing new stretches and exercise and help them to get them back on track. They focus on the patient’s range of motion and require a lot of physical work. They spend their day carefully observing patients and they record careful notes about each patient’s progress so that they work together with the therapist to determine the best step in the patient’s recovery.

Physical Therapy Assistant Job Summary:

We are looking to hire a successful candidate who has a license and a graduate from an approved PTA program and is actively working in this field. The PTA is responsible for implementing a treatment program established by the therapist as per state and federal law and regulations. The primary responsibility of PTA is to provide direct physical therapy intervention as planned and delegated and supervised by the therapists. The person in this role will record the treatment and note progress in medical records. In this role, you are entrusted to ensure a high degree of quality care that can be provided to our residents at all times. Physical Therapy Assistant Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist patient in dressing and undressing in preparation of treatment
  • Observe the patient during and after therapy, documenting patient status and reporting to physical therapists
  • Helping patients perform a specific exercise
  • Treating patients using various technologies like massaging and stretching
  • Helping patients walk using various device and equipment
  • Educating patients to do what after treatment
  • Performing clerical task such as answering phone calls and scheduling patients
  • Propose treatment goals and objectives
  • Providing high-quality treatment to patients for the excellent outcome
  • Assist the therapists in setting up the patient on all therapeutic equipment
  • Prepare cold and hot pack for use by the therapists

Physical Therapy Assistant Skills and Qualification:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in physical therapy
  • Must possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar field

  • Complete task thoroughly
