The job duties include performing work relating to the installation, alteration, maintenance, and repair of piping of gas, potable water, plumbing, heating, and drainage systems, carry tools, working materials, and equipment, identify and ensure tools and equipment needed to complete the job are available, prepare the work location as directed, move heavy valves, piping, and fixtures, assist with deliveries and pipe removal, clean work area, select the type and size of pipe and fittings required, modifies the length of pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing materials as needed for a building, measure, cut, drill or prepare openings as necessary. uses saws, pipe cutters, drills, hand tools, and power tools safely as necessary, locate and mark positions for connections and fixtures, installs supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures before installation.
