School bus drivers are around kids most of the day and it’s their responsibility to pick up kids from home and drop them at school. After school, the driver is in charge of dropping kids back to their home or residential bus stop. School Bus Driver Job Summary:

We are looking to hire school bus certified drivers with valid class A or B commercial licenses to safely transport children to and from school following a scheduled route. The driver responsibilities include observing traffic rules, ensuring proper vehicle maintenance, maintaining order among students while they are on the bus, performing pre and vehicle inspection, Assisting students in loading and unloading process, transporting students for special excursion and maintaining safety during transport. They should provide genuine care to children. Drivers must possess good communication skills and must be punctual during early morning routes. School Bus Driver Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Pick up and drop off at school, home, daycare or residential bus stop
  • Conveying kids to field trip destination
  • Ensuring all kids are safely seated and strapped in
  • Observing the speed limits and following the road signs
  • Helping disabled children get off the bus safely
  • Performing vehicle maintenance as a daily routine
  • Inspecting the vehicle thoroughly before each trip
  • Responding to emergency situations and reporting accidents, delays to the concerned staff immediately
  • Being attentive to weather condition, and traffic
  • Assisting students to cross the street if needed
  • Attending driver training programs and various meeting regarding safety, first aid and training updates

School Bus Driver Skills and Qualification:

  • Fully certified as a school bus driver with at least 2 years of experience
  • Skill to operate a school bus in a safe manner and administer first aid
  • Must possess valid class B commercial driver’s license
  • Experience working with children
  • Require high school diploma/GED
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Great time management skill and communication skill
  • Able to speak, read and write English
  • Able to fill the form appropriately
  • Able to sit for an extended period of time
  • Must pass a background check and drug screen
