Their driving job differs from others because they operate the vehicle in a particular route and sometimes they cover particular distance. There is a shuttle bus that usually operates in airport and shuttle van is seen moving travelers in a restricted area. The shuttle driver’s main duty is to convey people from one point to another and back to the point. The job involves repeating duty hours and the driver should have friendly and politely with the passengers. They should give clear direction about the destination and must keep the bus neat and clean in a perfect working condition. The driver should carry out minor repairs and maintenance after each trip.

His duty involves assisting guests with luggage, maintaining vehicle activity, maintaining a log, drive to and from the retail store, have constant contact with the manager, preparing accurate paperwork and record, and executing pick up drop off in a timely manner. The drivers must behave friendly towards passengers. They have to conduct a pre-trip and post-trip inspection of the vehicle. Drivers must collect the fare from passengers at the time of boarding and should know how to operate fare trip cards.  Shuttle drivers should maintain a presentable appearance which includes perfectly dressed according to company standard and neatly groomed. They should also maintain a cooperative attitude with fellow employees, supervisors, and passengers. Drivers must be willing to work on different shifts.


Shuttle Driver Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Managing transport schedules based on travelers need
  • Arriving at the collection point promptly and picking up passengers and loading their luggage in the vehicle safely
  • Confirming all passengers are present by examining the list and recording no-shows

  • Require high school diploma/GED
  • Must hold a valid commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Must have experience driving shuttles
  • Awareness about traffic rules and regulation
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Great time management skill and communication skill
  • Able to speak, read and write English
  • Must be able to work in flexible shift
  • Basic math’s skill required for proper documentation
  • Knowledge about first aid training
