The structural engineer designs the structure of a building and they need to choose apt building materials, inspect the construction work and ensure the structural strength of the building and structures. They design, plan, oversee the construction of new buildings and bridges and alter the existing properties or other structures. Structural engineers need to perform certain duties which include preparing reports, designs, and drawings, calculating pressure, loads, and stresses, consider the strength of construction material and select appropriately, provide technical advice on safe designs and constructions, obtain building regulations approval, analyze the configuration of the basic component of the structure, liaise with the professional staff such as architect and engineers, monitor and inspect all the work undertaken by the contractors to ensure structural soundness, administer contracts and manage projects.

Structural Engineer Job Summary:

We are looking to hire a successful candidate who has a degree in structural or civil engineering and this position is based out in our office and needs to report to our engineering manager. They are responsible for supporting the leading engineering project team with the development of foundation and structural plans and details. Working within a multi-discipline team to develop efficient and reliable structural design packages for high voltage substations. The candidate needs to have a degree in civil engineering from a recognized institution, at least 5 years of experience in civil and structural designs for electrical transmission and substation facilities, a professional engineer registration is preferred, and a working knowledge of typical structural designs software and a good knowledge of mic Microsoft office, windows and MS outlook. The job duties include civil and structural design of electrical transmission facilities including support structure foundation, site development, and control building.
