Tax Accountant Job Summary:

We are looking to hire an experienced tax accountant who is looking for a bright, professional, and highly motivated individual interested in advancing their career with a growing firm. He will be responsible for the preparation of corporate, partnership, trust, and individual income tax returns. Will be ready to prepare work papers, perform tax research, analyze tax notices, draft responses, assist tax planning and preparation of projections as well as participate in month-end and year-end closing processes. They need to assist clients with daily accounting functions while assessing their current systems and process to determine streamlining and automation opportunities. Additionally, the candidate needs to research tax topics of intermediate complexity and assist in managing, developing, and coaching professional tax staff.

Tax Accountant Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Preparing tax statement, financial and Bas statements at required intervals
  • Producing and returning statement documents to clients by creating a set deadline
  • Liaising with ATO and other regulatory bodies when required
  • Producing business income tax returns and statements for audits
  • Assist in financial planning and regularly review systems
  • Engage regularly with the clients and maintain a strong relationship
  • Identify areas where business can reduce tax, make claims and increase profit
  • Possess strong knowledge of tax law and statutory regulations
  • Understand the financial landscape and market trends
  • Coordinating with client tax return preparation and deadlines
  • Manage client relationship and identify consulting opportunities
  • Represent client before tax agencies and perform tax and accounting research
  • Manage tax planning strategies for individual and business
  •  Review client accounting data and propose adjusting entries
  • Train team members and identify consulting opportunities
  • Interpret tax documents for tax structures for new deal setup

Tax Accountant Skills and Qualification:

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting
  • Must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience as a tax accountant or similar role
  • Punctual, reliable and must have strong communication skill
  • Great understanding about MS Office, Excel, Quick Book, and Lacerate Tax
  • Licensed CPA or CPA candidate preferred
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping, accounting principle, practices, standard, law, and regulation
  • Extremely organized, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill
  • Must be a self-starter and a problem solver with a strong drive to achieve optimal outcome in all task
  • Able to work overtime during peak seasons
  • Knowledge of mortgage banking
