Truck Driver Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Performing mechanical analysis ensuring the vehicle is in a proper working condition
  • Inspecting parts of the vehicle, filing the report and reporting malfunctioning of the vehicle
  • Adhering to applicable traffic laws following safety procedures, driving through the designated route, and strictly following the deadline
  • Inspecting the freight ensuring safety making sure the goods are loaded safely
  • Making sure documentation is done with accuracy, the packages are fastened properly and met with special needs of loading and unloading cargo
  • Awareness of operating light and heavy load trucks and steering the truck to specialized weight facilities pre and post-delivery
  • Properly setting the vehicle into loading and unloading position at the designated area following the instruction of the crew
  • Performing routine vehicle maintenance task
  • Maintaining logs of the working hour, cargo transferred, and status of vehicle repair
  • Completing all documentation and filing them with the employer
  • Maintaining records of a traffic violation, accidents occurred, damages caused by accident, fines and all infractions
  • Getting receipt signed from the customer after delivery and collecting transporting fare if necessary

Truck Driver Skills and Qualification:

  • Must possess Class A commercial driving license
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Must provide current MVR and TWIC card
  • Should provide a medical certificate
  • More than 2 years of commercial driving experience is required
  • No accident reports in the last 5 years
  • Require high school diploma/GED
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Not more than 3 moving violation including drugs or alcohol in the last 36 months
  • Must have a stable work history
