A web administrator maintains the organization’s websites and they monitor site traffic and performance further recommending changes to the site’s technical architecture. They need to ensure the website remains responsive and stable. The position usually is related to hardware and software, installing upgrades, and resolving system errors. The professional needs to ensure the website is properly integrated with computer systems and back-end processes. They may work independently or in a collaborative nature. Web Administrator Job Summary:

We are looking to hire successful candidates for web administrator positions and need to have a thorough understanding of SharePoint and other IIS web technologies. They have to be experienced in deploying and sustaining SharePoint web applications. The professional needs to have experienced with firewalls, intranet, domain name service, active directory, servers, and the related hardware and software required to administer a website. Candidate must have in-depth SharePoint front end experience and able to assist end-users with tier-2 level issues. Sharepoint farm administration experience is preferable. Candidate must possess excellent communication and customer service skills and the ability to work in a team environment. A few other typical duties include maintaining, configuring, customizing, and managing enterprise SharePoint services and other IIS websites, implementing and troubleshooting SharePoint based workflow engines.

Web Administrator Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Designing and implementing web servers apply patches and updates
  • Creating and analyzing reports on web activity, web page hit count, traffic pattern and similar performance metrics
  • Perform site migrations using various migration methods such as backup, restores, Powershell site copies, and using third-party migrating tools
  • Support users and stakeholders in the development and documentation of business requirements
  • Implementing new software product, tools, systems, and upgrades
  • Develop and maintain user and technical manuals and guidelines
  • Manage user identities, credentials, and privilege on the local server
  • Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues
  • Provide desktop support to end-users by responding to requests for technical assistance
