The medical office assistant is also known as medical secretaries and they perform administrative functions for hospitals and clinics using the knowledge of medical terminology. They perform both direct and indirect patient care duties. They perform a wide range of tasks ensuring the hospital or clinic runs smoothly. The tasks include checking a patient at the front desk, answering calls, scheduling appointments, asking patients case histories, compiling medical records, processing insurance payment, handling computer software and office equipment, transferring lab reports to apt doctors, and maintaining supplies for the office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We are looking to hire a successful candidate who is capable to perform administrative duties under the direction of the office manager and lead medical assistant. The position involves coordinating patient and physician schedules as well as insurance verification, appointment scheduling, patient registration, record keeping, and other office duties as assigned. We are looking for a professional who is committed to teamwork and who understands the value of compassionate care. The role requires fast-paced and involves a significant amount of multitasking but the ideal candidate will also know when to slow down and provide a welcoming environment for our patients. Your job duties involve working on behalf of the patient to obtain or release authorization, obtain documentation from the doctor’s office, work with providers and payers to maximize reimbursement, audit health insurance benefit summaries, review prior authorization for services, data entry, maintain HIPAA compliances all the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
