The coast guard is responsible for providing various services at sea, especially protecting the state’s maritime interest and enforcing the maritime law. The major duties of a coast guard include safeguarding and protecting artificial islands, offshore terminals, installation, and other devices, protecting and assisting fishermen in distress, preserving and protecting the marine environment including controlling marine pollution, assisting customs and other authorities in anti-smuggling operation, and taking measures to protect the safety of life and property at sea and collecting scientific data. The coast guard would be commanded by a 4-star admiral known as coast guard commandant and the nation’s oldest continuous seagoing service providers responsibilities include search and rescue, maritime law enforcement, aids to navigation, icebreaking, environmental protection, port security, and military readiness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, United States Coast Guard, Director of Operational Logistics, Base Miami, Naval Engineering Department, Industrial Production Facility, Miami, FL. The Job responsibilities include Removing machinery from boats, ships, or stations, for repairs or modifications, Determining the degree of wear and renewing parts worn beyond limits as outlined in manufacturers’ manuals or other competent authority, Disassembling, repairing, testing, installing, and aligning machinery such as marine diesel engines both mobile and stationary, replacing or reinstalling parts as necessary, Installing, adjusting, setting, repairing, or replacing engine controls, governors, unloaders, safety valves, steering gear, and rudders, Installing and repairing other types of ship machinery such as weight handling machinery, hydraulic systems and components, anchor windlasses, boat davits, cranes and other deck machinery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
