The national guard consists of people who love to serve the country, community, and state and obtain training for various future jobs in the US. The people employed in the US and their duty focus on domestic emergencies. Unlike the US Army and other branches, the national guard is state-based. Each state government has its national guard. They are weekend warriors and they have to perform various duties like counter-drug effort, domestic emergencies, overseas combat missions, enforce the laws, and repel an invasion of the US. The state governor can call them up in emergencies and the guard also needs to answer if the president calls to serve the federal government. The national guard duties include building schools, training local forces, working with local farmers to improve their methods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
