A grocery clerk, also known as a supermarket clerk is a professional who plans and manages daily operations of grocery stores. The clerk must ensure the grocery area is well maintained and running efficiently. The main duties and responsibilities of a grocery clerk includes preparing sales display, stocking products, processing customer order, helping customers to make purchases, escorting customers to appropriate space, assisting customers with purchasing decision, ensuring the products are accurately labeled, replacing old stock with new products, follow dress code policies and sanitation guideline, process customer order and payment, discard expired items and ensure the store is clean and safe. The ideal candidate needs to have a minimum 2 years of experience in a similar field to get a job as a grocery clerk at a reputed supermarket.
