A service advisor works for a car dealership and it is their duty to communicate with customers regarding vehicle problems and the repair timeline. They address customer concerns about their vehicle and advise the best course of action. A service advisor role and function includes greeting customers, listening to their problems, directing them to available mechanics, consulting mechanic with necessary repair, providing possible alternatives to expensive repair, provide information about available part and various service options to customers, answering questions about service outcomes, vehicle pick up and drop off facility, providing customer information and advice on warranty, inspecting work completed by mechanics, test driving vehicle before returning to customer, managing and overseeing dealership workflow, maintaining positive relationship with customers, explaining about services provided in detail, processing customer payment, and providing training to new service advisors. The service advisor needs to have prior experience in the automotive service industry and must hold a valid driver’s license. They need to have great knowledge about the automotive industry and should be able to explain customers about various vehicle related frequent problems, and necessary maintenance required. They need to possess strong leadership skills, organization skill, and basic computer skills. They should be ready to work at various shifts and sometimes during weekends too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
