Library assistant or librarian’s primary duty is to manage a library by helping customers locate a book, checking books at the front desk and arranging books according to their categorization. They manage inquiries over the counter through mail or phone. A library assistant responsibilities includes helping customers locate book and other material online, sorting books, registering new customers, maintaining and updating new customer profile, cataloging new arrivals, assisting customers with internet access, organizing and repairing damaged book, inspecting the condition of book before and after check out to find out any damage on behalf of customer, managing inquiries over the counter, organizing library event and reading sessions, managing the payment of fines, cataloging audio-visual material, avoiding any disruptions in the library, processing new books and maintaining library data using new software system. A library assistant should have experience in a customer service role. They must be computer savvy and should possess outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
